Holman's Heritage Suites are located in the historicaly significant property, The Holman Homestead. This home was orginally built in 1854 as a parsonage for the first church in Summerside. In the 1870s, Robert Tinson (RT) Holman purchased the home. RT was know as PEI's merchant prince and was PEIs most prominent business man during the late 1800s and early 1900s. His wife Ellen, designed the Holman Heritage Gardens which are said to be the oldest in North America. The home remained in the Holman family until the the 1980s. Since then, the home has been used as an antique store, museum, restaurant, boarding house, and most recently Holman's Heritage Suites and PEI's favourite ice cream destination, Holman's Ice Cream Parlour.
